Ama Garatshun is the innovative founder and creative force behind designer swim and resort wear label AMA GARATSHUN. The name is a unique and unusual combination of the designer’s Australian, Greek and Ukrainian heritage. When Ama couldn’t find a beautiful and reasonably priced swimsuit one summer while on vacation, she decided she would design and create her own.

“I design each piece so that it can be utilized in more than one way. For example the kaftan can be manipulated and worn in many different ways, with or without a belt. Every time I put it on I discover a new way to wear it. I am loving the black kaftan in particular and I like to accessorize it with big gold disc earrings, a statement gold necklace, a gold belt and a chunky stone rings. It’s a bold look that I am in love with for this summer season!”

Ama is currently working on statement prints that will be the main focus of her next collection. We can expect to see stunning kaleidoscope style prints, custom made and sourced by Ama herself, focusing on vivid colours drawn from our beautiful Australian landscape and inspired from Australian Birds, Flora and marine life. Swim Show Australia and Swim Show USA are most definitely on the agenda and this will be something Ama will be working very hard at to achieve within the next couple of years.
